Epcohs Camp Fire Girl at Milltowne, Kensi, earned her Canine Good Citizens Title at BreakAway Action Dogs in Frederick Md on Sept 12,2017. Big thanks to Lisa, Carol and Donna for all your help.



Pawcatuck LRC brought ribbons to Milltowne Labradors. Caer Bren Horatio won both of his regular veteran 11 and up classes and one of his veteran sweeps classes. Milltowne's Superstorm ventured outside to finish her Rally Excellent title with a first place score of 81. Three days later she earned her Working Certificate at an event hosted by the LRC of the Cheasapeake.(Sep 2016)



Even though we haven't posted much lately are dogs have been very active. Duncan and Catcher both got their Junior Hunter Titles. At Potomac Stormy got her Rally Novice and the following year got her Rally Advanced title. Stormy also received her first 2 confirmation points this past year. We also ventured into the sport of Flushing Hunt Tests. Duncan and Horatio both earned their Junior Hunter Upland Titles.(Feb 2016)



Potomac is over and Milltowne's Catcher Bob came away with a Rally Novice title. He qualified Tuesday,Thursday and Friday with a third place on Thursday and a second place on Friday. Catcher was the youngest dog at all four Rally trials. (May 2012)



This spring and summer were busy.


Milltowne's CatcherBob (Catcher) received his STAR Puppy award in June at the age of 5 months at Break-A-Way Action Dogs in Frederick MD. Many thanks to instructor Holly Walace.


Catcher is also working in the field. He earned his Working Certificate at the Labrador Retriever Club of the Chesapeake at their fall event.


In the Conformation arena Milltowne' Song of Joy swept Winner's Bitch at both the Shawnee Kennel Club shows on 16-17 July under Mrs. Terry DiPietro and Mr. Howard Yost. She also went Best of Winners on 17 July. Joy is owned and loved by Linda & Jerry Ruelle and breeders Mario Cilia and Betty Dust. Joy was expertly handled by Jessy and Roxanne Sutton. Joy also earned her CGC this summer.


Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne RN CGC (Twist) also had a great weekend on 16 -17 July at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club in Southhaven MS. She was Reserve Winners Bitch on16 July under judge Mrs, Nancy Simmons. On 17 July she was Winner's Bitch and Best of Opposite under judge Mrs. Barbara Dempsey Alderman. Twist is expertly handled by Lenny Brown and Shelby Roberts (Oct,2011)


November took us to North Carolina and the Raleigh Durham specialty. Allegheny's Clementine was the star as the Best in Veteran Sweeps on Thursday. Milltowne's Song of Joy(Joy) and Caer Bren Horatio(Horiatio) were both second in their classes. On Friday Clementine won her sweeps class while Joy and Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowe (Twist) were both fourth and Horatio was 3rd.(13 Nov 2010)


With the record breaking heat streak behind us, it was time to take to the field. At the LRCP Field event and picnic, hosted at Deep Run Farm, Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne RN CGC (Twist) and Milltowne's Song of the South (Dixie) both earned their Working Certificate. In the Unsteady Super Single Event, Caer Bren Horatio WC placed 2nd out of approximatly 20 dogs ( Aug 1, 2010)


Twist (Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne RN CGC) gave the Milltowne Kennel a great fireworks show this July. She went Best of Breed at the Shawnee KC show in Berryville VA on July 17 under breeder judge Mr. Terry Stacy. Special thanks to Sheree Mosses who expertly showed her to this accomplishment.(July 19,2010)


The Greater Pittsburgh LRC specialties brought lots of ribbons to our dogs. Our veteran girl Allegeny's Clementine placed 2nd in both regular and sweepstakes classes. Caer Bren Horatio was second under breeder judge Patty Block (Sumo). While Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne place 3rd in a large class under Patty. Milltowne's Duncan Donut won his sweepstakes class both days and placed 2nd in his regular class on Friday. (Jun 28, 2010)


Milltowne's Duncan Donut had a good day at the LRCP specialty. He scored a 95 out of 100 in Rally Obedience and earned his Novice Rally Title (Apr 15,2010)


The begining of April started well for Milltowne's Duncan Donut. He earned two legs toward his Rally Novice title at the Upper Marlboro Kennel Club trial on April 3 and 4. On April 4th he also placed third in his class.


December was good to Milltowne dogs. Milltowne's Song of Joy went Reserve Winners Bitch at the Chmersburg KC show early in the month. Joy is owned and love by Linda and Jerry Ruelle and co-owned by Betty and Mario. Joy's brother Milltowne's Duncan Donut received his Canine Good Citizens certificate at the event hosted by Breakaway Action Dogs later in the month.


It wasn't Bare Bones for our dogs. At the LRCP Bare Bones Specialty Milltowne's Duncan Donut placed 4th in his Sweeps class and 3rd in his regular class. Grandma, Allegheny's Clementine, won her Veteran 11 and over sweeps and regular class and Caer Bren Horatio was fouth in the Am Bred class.(Oct 25, 09)


Milltowne's Duncan Donut started his show career with a class win in the 6-9 Puppy Class at Catonsville KC. Caer Bren Horatio was Reserve Winners Dog at the Maryland KC the next day.(Oct 09)


Milltowne's Duncan Donut and Caer Bren Horatio both received their Working Certificates at an event sponsered by Deep Run Farms. (Aug 09)


At the Southern Maryland Super Single and Puppy stakes Caer Bren Horatio received a Judges Award of Merit in the Unsteady class while Milltowne's Duncan Donut won the 3-6 month old stake. (Jul 09)


Caer Bren Horatio celebrated the fourth of July by going Winners Dog at the Upper Marlboro Kennel Club. Thanks to Kim Moshlak for her expert handling.


Caer Bren Horatio and Allegheny's Clementine were both in the ribbons at the Greater Pittsburgh LRC specialty. Horatio won his class both days while Clementine was the Best of Opposite in Sweeps on Thursday (Jun 09)


February brought us to the Labrador Retriever Club of the Piedmont Specialty in North Carolina. Allegheny's Clementine handily won her over 11 sweeps and regular class and was Best of Opposite Sex in the sweeps ring. Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne and Milltowne's Blissful Spirit were both in the Winner's Bitch ring by virtue of winning their classes. Caer Bren Horatio winning his class was also in the winners ring. (Feb09)


Caer Bren Storm Cloud had qualified to participate in the North American Hunting Retriever Association Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational. He qualified in this test with flying colors. (Nov 08)


Obedience was the flavor for the late winter. Both Caer Bren Sure Shot Shiloh and Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne earned their Rally Novice Title at the 22 March Dog Owners Training Club Trial. In early April both also earned their Canine Good Citezenship (CGC) certificate and Shiloh earned her Therapy Dog Intenational (TDI) certificate.(April 08)


The Labrador Retriever Club of the Piedmont back to back specialty shows gave the Milltowne gang a lot of ribbons. Horatio(Caer Bren Horatio) and Twist(Makasi Twist of Fate at Milltowne) each won their class on Saturday. Twist also won her class on Sunday and received her second Rally Novice Leg,placing third, on Saturday. Shiloh (Caer Bren Sure shot Shiloh) earned two Rally Novice Legs placing 2nd both days. Allegheny's Clementine placed 2nd in her regular veteran classes both days and fourth and second in her sweeps classes (Feb 08)


The Spring and early summer brought about some good news from the Milltowne dogs. Logan (Caer Bren Storm Cloud) received his NAHRA Started Retriever title at the Southern MD RC test. The Greater Pittsburgh LRC specialty brought about placements for Horatio(Caer Bren Horatio), Popper (Milltowne Kettle Corn) and Spirit (Milltowne' Blissful Spirit). (July, 07)


The beginning of October was good for Milltowne dogs. Logan (Caer Bren Storm Cloud) got his 3rd leg of his NAHRA started title at the Southern MD Test. Horatio (Caer Bren Horatio) was Reserve winners dog at the Old Dominion KC show. (Oct 2006)


Milltowne dogs had a good specialty at the Mid-Jersey LRC Specialty. CH Alleghenys Clementine JH placed 1st in the Hunting Retriever Bitch class. Milltowne Kettle Corn (Ch Dickendall Davaron Gable x Ch.Allegheny Clementine JH) ,Popper, placed 3rd in Am Bred, and Caer Bren Sure Shot Shiloh JH CD, scored a 192 in veterans obedience.


Caer Bren Storm Cloud Logan "  had a good Indepence Cluster.  At Catoctin KC he was Reserve Winners Dog under  Judge Dorothy MacDonald.  At the Upper Marlboro shows he went Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed under Judge Walter Sommerfelt.   This minored Logan out with 9 Point we'll be hunting for majors in the fall.  Thanks Kim..
